1953-1958 Apprentice – Hathaway and Muddiman as a Diamond Mounter.
1961 G&G Heinrich’s workshop Auckland.
1964 first workshop in Auckland.
1965 founded Federation of Manufacturing Jewellers; elected first Chairman and became the federation’s first Life Member in 1978.
1971 first Jeweller to be elected as a Member of the NZ Society of Industrial Designers.
1971 Peter Minturn Creations awarded New Zealand Industrial Design Councils “Design Mark” for production jewellery that spearheaded export jewellery from NZ in the 1970s.
1976 study tour of major Jewellery Schools in Europe; the aim -to set up a similar institution in New Zealand – partly sponsored by the Queen Elizabeth Arts Council
1977 study tour of Gold and Diamond industries, South Africa – sponsored by the Gold and Diamond Producers of South Africa.
Set and marked trade certificate examinations for New Zealand jewellery apprentices.
Regularly judged in the Skills Jewellery Competitions.
Held for five years a regular programme “Rings and Things” on National Radio with Wayne Mowatt focussing on current events in the world of gems, jewellery and archaeology etc.
Now works designing and making commissioned work.
