Recreational Jewellery Course

This course will cover basic hand skills and workshop practise; from basic bench management, the recovery of precious metals, safe handling of tools and machines in the workshop

It is open to all learners regardless of experience. There are three compulsory pieces that will give all the basic hand skills required for this course. This will lead on to being able to make jewellery in a modern professional workshop at a craft level.

All basic tools are provided for the classes, but you will be encouraged to own a small basic tool kit.

If you would like to attend a second term your name needs to be on the list by week 6 of your term.

All tutors are working, experienced jewellers. There are two tutors and a maximum of 20 students per class, and clasess are run on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening 6-9pm. Please indicate your preferred days when enrolling.

Jewellery Design and Rendering Course

This course will be run once a year subject to numbers (minimum ten people). It is traditionally held in Term 3 on a Monday 6:00pm - 8:30pm.

This course will take students who have some artistic talent from thumbnail sketch to full colour rendering. The course content will cover the history of jewellery design and will explore both traditional and contemporary design trends.

A material/tools list required for the course will be supplied prior to commencement.

The tutor has extensive national and international experience.

Diamond & Gem Setting Course

This course will be run once a year subject to numbers, (minimum ten people). It is traditionally held in Term 2 on a Monday 6:00pm - 9:00pm.

This course is for members of the jewellery trade who wish to up grade their setting skills or those jewellers who wish to learn the basic foundation skills with which to practice and build on.

The school provides all the tools required to complete this course. The cost of these tools will be confirmed on enrolment.
