Full time Courses

We have in place no unreasonable barriers to any person wishing to study at the School. However to attend the School, all potential students must pass a two day audition. At this performance based study, the student must demonstrate to the school that they have the artistic ability, and the hand/eye co-ordination required to benefit from the qualifications on offer. Evidence of competency in artwork, (preferably a portfolio of creative art), will need to be sighted by the Principal.

Full instruction and tuition will be given to achieve the three exercises set in the audition.
All courses are given in English; therefore a good level of literacy is required.

Recreational Courses

These Courses are open to all learners regardless of experience. All basic tools are provided for the classes. You will be given full OSH training during the first class. It is important for the school to follow and observe OSH requirements at all times. If you do not follow these regulations and are seen to be putting either yourself or others in danger you will be told to leave. These regulations include wearing covered shoes, keeping your hair tied back (pinned if it is not long enough to tie), and the wearing of a full apron. Cost of materials depends on the weight of silver used and any other consumables purchased. All prices can be confirmed prior to use in the class. Please ask your tutor.If you would like to attend a second term your name needs to be on the list by week 6 of your term.

Should you wish to visit the school before you enrol, please feel free to drop by any time, we are open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, or during one of the evening classes.

Recognised Prior Learning(RPL)

Recognised Prior Learning procedure is available to potential students. Prior Secondary School or other academic achievements are not a part of or assessed in the audition process, unless requested by the potential student.

Recognition of Current Competency as per the Peter Minturn Goldsmith School QMS1.2.4.

School Day and Work Ethic:

The school will work a eight-hour-day 9am to 5pm.
