The jewellery trade is based on absolute integrity and mutual trust. There is no place for dishonesty in this school or the profession.
Students are required to follow the requirements as detailed in the Health and Safety manual at all times.
Students are responsible for the safety of themselves and those around them at all times.
Students are required to attend all classes punctually. (Hours are 9am to 5pm).
Students are required to maintain work benches tools and equipment of the school in good order.
Students are required to wear an apron at all times in the school workshop and safety glasses whenever using superglue & the drills at their benches or any of the larger items of machinery around the workshop.
In the interests of safety - students must have their hair pinned back or restrained. If it is below the collar they are required to tie it back securely.
Students & Staff based in the workshop must wear covered footwear.
Students are required to conduct themselves in a disciplined manner appropriate to a trade workshop at all times.
No smoking on the school premises. This includes the toilets, and also means within 5 metres of the front doors.
No drugs or alcohol are to brought into the school premises.
No student is to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during school attendance.
No student or staff member will unlawfully obtain property that belongs to fellow students, staff or the school.
