Over the three years of study we aim to develop our learners to be capable of working independently as contributing employees, or to be productive in self-employment.
Our programmes focus on technical and practical skill-sets required for designing and making fine jewellery as a goldsmith. Learning is collegial and intensively centered around the jewellers bench imitating a work environment, design modules cover a range of manufacturing processes applicable to jewellery, and are supported by journalling and portfolio content, (which must stay intact for the duration of study). Exercises within all the modules outline the content required to complete and achieve them.
Introduction to Recreational Learning
Recreational classes are an excellent opportunity to learn basic or more advanced hand-making skills the PMGS way, or use the workshop resources as a bench hire. We encourage you to develop your own style and complete your work to a fine finish. Our tutors will help guide you in the processes required to make your own unique pieces in Silver and Gold.
