Jewellery Engraving

This course is for those who wish to learn the fundamentals of hand engraving, and will suit participants that have an understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes.
Our tutor,  is a practicing Engraver with many years experience in the Trade.

He will share basic skill-sets with you to practice and build on.  He will introduce essential tool preparation, basic letters, scroll work, drawing and cutting. Time permitting, we will also introduce detailed scroll work / inscription.

The following tools are required from the first day:
1x 2.5mm square Graver- high speed steel
1x half head short neck handle
Norton oilstone or similar
1x 4/0 polishing paper
Setting cement/brown wax
Dividers
Pencil, ruler, rubber
Compass
A box of plasters,  (you know it’s inevitable)

You will need to bring a bib apron, wear closed toe shoes and if you wear your hair long it must be tied up.

Fees: $425.00 inclusive of materials

Materials supplied by the school: Copper to work on, glass flat and hand peg
